The newsletter for ai builders of all levels. Mini-tutorials, tool reviews, and lay of the land from an exited founder turned investor and forever tinkerer.
Hey folks,
Anyone work at Docker that can bump me up the Docker Hub/Offload waitlist? 🙏
The all you can eat buffet is ending. Claude Code is getting weekly rate limits that Anthropic says will impact only 5% of the users (i.e. us). Limits begin from August 28 - so get your agents on overdrive (which is actually the reason these limits are coming into effect).
I saw this cool tool: Claude Count which shows a leaderboard of how much you’re using Claude Code. I made it to the top 20!
Claude Code also has subagents - You can create these within the Claude Code interface, and Claude can write them for you. This basically gives them a set of instructions, things to do, and tools they can use, and it's going even more in the direction of apps becoming agents now. And some inspiration for what subagents to create.
Figma Make is now available for everyone. Check out this interview with some of its makers.
Runway has a new video model - Aleph, made primarily for editing videos like creating a new angle of a scene, adding/removing objects, and transferring style from one clip to another. Related: Netflix’s co-CEO mentioned the use of generative AI in one of the sequences in an Argentinian show on the platform, so yes, AI video is staying.
Z AI, another Chinese company released a big open-source model that beats Opus on benchmarks. GLM-4.5 and 4.5 Air are two variants of their new model, both very cheap and with near frontier performance, especially when it comes to tool calls. This is a common trend across Kimi K2 and the new Qwen model released last week— a ton of effort is going into teaching the model when to use reasoning, when/how to use external tools
Airia is the enterprise AI orchestration platform that keeps your data secure. Build AI agents with built-in governance, role-based controls, and audit trails. Integrate with enterprise systems securely through no-code tools. Secure AI at scale.*
After launching an AI app builder, the next step for Microsoft is giving Edge (that’s their browser if you didn’t know) a Copilot Mode to take on the likes of Dia and Comet. The core feature is access to open tabs and then making actions on them (like booking a hotel for the 100th time). ps: what’s up with these weird close-up shots in the launch video?
The results from Bolt’s vibe-coding hackathon are out. Check out all the winners and their projects here.

What type of apps can non-engineers make with vibe coding? for real, right now.
I asked ChatGPT Agent to make an image to show the content from the last link above. I got this after ~20 mins of it working. What do you think?
⚙️ Tools I’m looking into
Chronicle helps you make designer-grade presentations with AI for free. It is like Cursor for presentations!*
Waves - Camera glasses for creators. No AI, but it allows you to record and livestream in stealth, which feels like another gimmick to hype (maybe) a decent product.
Data Connectors in Julius AI - You can now connect to Postgres, Drive or more and get insights from your data + Julius just raised $10M (I’m an early investor)
Shortcut - The viral AI agent for Excel is now live for everyone.
Supermemory - Universal memory for all the apps you use.
Web Guide - An experiment from Google Labs to group together similar links on the search page. It’s slow for now, but I’ve kept it on, so let’s see how it goes.
Opal - A visual AI app builder. Available as an experiment from Google Labs in US only (VPN works).
