Digest #540 | Build with 20k+ others - Become a Pro member
Hey folks, I’m back making content!
I recorded a quick video: A non-technical guide for how code works - the aim is to help us non-coders understand whats happening inside a code project. I learnt backwards, by building first.

The figma file, code repo and file explanations + glossary are all linked here.
I’m going to make more content like this, i’m always open to suggestions to ping me in Slack or on Twitter!
A huge thanks to community members Colleen, Justin, Alexander, Kieran, Nick, Lorenzo, Christian, Wyatt, Este and others for reviewing early videos and giving feedback!

🔎 Trends & news
Google released native image generation for developers. If you’ve used any image-generation tool and felt like they are a little dumb, this fixes it. Native generation allows the same model to generate text and images (vs calling a separate model like DallE3 or Imagen). It also enables natural and selective editing of images without changing the entire image. You can use it on Google AI Studio by changing the model to “Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental”
Another upgrade in Google AI Studio - You can now share a YouTube link and ask questions about the VIDEO, not the transcript.
Google also released Gemma 3, their open LLM. It comes in four sizes: 1B, 4B, 12B and 27B. The 27B variant beats DeepSeek V3 and can be trained further to surpass even DeepSeek R1 (the hyped one). Two important improvements in Gemma 3 are a) its context window—supporting 128k tokens now and b) vision—i.e. can understand images.
And another sidequest for Google: Robotics and LLMs come together.
OpenAI has three new tools for building agents. Developers can now use web search, file search and computer use. To make using these easier, OpenAI has a new Responses API and Agents SDK. The completions API will stay, and the Assistant API has numbered days until 2026.
OpenAI has trained a new model that is good at creative writing. Sam Altman shared an example from it. The writing is certainly better, but you feel the way AI lacks in creativity just by reading the story to the end.
Memex, the AI Builder for your desktop, launched its beta. Imagine Manus AI and Cursor had a baby. Build and research anything -- from MCP servers to 3D designs. If you’re experimenting with vibe coding tools, Memex is a must try. Try with code 'BB' for extra credits! 🤙🏗️*
Lovable and Anthropic are hosting a virtual “vibe-coding” hackathon at the end of March for $10k in prizes.

Becoming pro comes with access to our Slack community that builds and learns together. Here's what is cooking in the community:
Claudiu asked for recommendations on a Chrome extension to summarize web pages and I suggested he should build his own. 40 minutes and few messages later, he had one that works perfectly for his needs. (link)
I am also planning more content for Pro members. You can shape it with your feedback. (link)
Umar shared his struggle managing workflow between V0 and Cursor without breaking things. (link)
